Terrell Ray Ward was born in San Francisco, California on December 12, 1986. T.J. Ward attended De La Salle High School which is known for its football program. While Terrell Ward attended school, they had a 151 game winning streak and won three straight national championships. The 5’11” 201 lbs Free Safety didn’t get much attention until his senior year. Three games into his 2004 senior year, T.J. Ward suffered a season ending knee injury which deterred college recruiters.
In 2005, T.J. Ward played his redshirt season with the University of Oregon Ducks. Ward received the team’s defensive player of the week two times. T.J. Ward left spring drills in 2006 as a starter at cornerback, but a knee injury early in fall camp hindered him from starting.
Terrell Ward, #2, made his collegiate debut on September 30 against Arizona State. T.J. Ward had more injuries throughout the season and played in only three games. In 2007, T.J. Ward became one of the Oregon Ducks top special teams standouts. T.J. Ward had an amazing 2008 season. TJ Ward was the Oregon ducks leader in tackles with 101. Ward received honorable mentions and pacific-10 all-conference awards. Terrell Ward also tied for second on the Ducks with eight pass breakups.
