The University of Oregon Ducks' football team has had many notable games but there are a few that stand out the most. In the 1970 game against UCLA Bruins, UCLA was leading 40-21 with less than 5 minutes remaining. The Ducks football team came back with 21 seconds left to win 41-40.
Another memorable game was in 1994 when the Oregon Ducks played their rivals the University of Washington. The Ducks clang to a 24-20 lead late in the game. With various lopsided losses through the years, plus the fact that Washington had won five games in a row and 17 of the last 21 games against the Ducks, many Oregon Ducks fans feared the worst. Freshman cornerback Kenny Wheaton stepped in front of a pass, intercepted it, and scored a clinching touchdown. It's now tradition at all of the Oregon Ducks football games to play "The Pick" on the Duck Vision right before the Ducks run onto the field.
A notable recent change that may affect the Ducks Football ticket sales happened on March 13, 2009, when Mike Bellotti resigned as the head Duck football coach. Instead of coaching the Oregon Ducks at Autzen Stadium, Mike Bellotte will be the new athletic director at the University oF Oregon on July 1st, 2009. Offensive coordinator Chip Kelly will take over as the new head coach for the Oregon Ducks Football team.
There are plenty of great Ducks football games in the history books, but there are also plenty of match-ups waiting to be recorded. Be a part of the Oregon Ducks football history books and buy Ducks football tickets today!
